About My Approach
Certified Trauma Recovery Coach (CTRC), Herbalist, Functional Nutrition Specialist, Iatromántis (Ancient Greek shamanic healer), Retired Midwife
Trauma often occurs in relationship, and thus I believe it is through relationship that healing can occur.
I see each person as a multi-faceted gem. We may present many different sides of ourself to the world, depending on how we are feeling in any given moment. I view these multiple facets as "parts", and in my practice, all parts of you are welcome. Throughout our lives, we create strategies to cope with our overwhelming experiences, in service of survival. For many of us, we reach a point in our lives when those strategies are no longer helpful, and we seek new ways to function.
I use a blend of modalities to support your healing, including attunement and resonance with interpersonal neurobiology, empathy and compassion, parts work, somatic movement, and mindfulness. Education on how our nervous system works and imprints our trauma informs how I approach each client's healing journey. We cannot think our way to safety: we must feel it in our body. I seek to help you find safety within yourself, even when it feels unsafe outside of yourself.
Because we are whole human beings, I blend multiple nourishing modalities, including somatic movement, lifestyle, nutrition, and herbal support in addition to emotional support, to create a holistic healing experience. Our bodies carry so much of our past. If you are interested in energetic work, I also offer an in-person ritual called "Incubation", which is a form of healing that was practiced in Ancient Greece at the Temples of Asklepios. If this form of healing is of interest to you, we can discuss it more during a consultation.
No matter what form your healing journey takes, my role is to respectfully facilitate relationship building between you and all the parts of you. Through building a relationship of safety where you can bring your whole self, the healing process can unfold. Welcome!

Respectful Facilitation, Guidance and Support
At each session you'll have a chance to share what's present for you, but I will also help you map out what parts of you get overwhelmed, what parts are using unhelpful strategies in your life, and what parts are holding deep wounds. I will offer guidance and support in your recovery, allowing you to lead the session and choose what tools would best support you. Having a voice and a choice in your care is foundational to healing. Healing occurs through four main phases: Processing, Transformation, Release, and Integration. There is no way to predict how long the healing journey will take, but a willingness to be open to the process is one of your greatest assets in this work.
Note: I do not provide crisis care, medications, diagnose or treat any conditions; I provide a safe space and helpful tools to support your healing process. I provide care for adult individuals only. I do not offer support for minors or couples at this time.

More ways to support your journey
Sometimes our trauma affects more than just our emotional and psychological health, reaching us in physical and spiritual ways. For many of us, food has been a strategy to cope with emotional pain, which can lead to chronic inflammation and pain in our bodies. Providing support for lifestyle and nutritional changes, education of herbs that can help your process, and healing rites that provide spiritual invigoration, all help in creating a holistic healing experience for you. This is more than just self-care; this is parts care.

What does a typical session look like?
Each session is 1.5 hours long.
We begin each session with a grounding practice to help us center and focus.
I will check in with you about your recovery goals and any action plans that we created. If there is anything present in the moment that you want to talk about, we can spend a brief time in open dialogue.
Next, I will guide you through a brief body scan practice to help tune into what the body is trying to communicate. Remember: we can't think our way to safety, we have to feel it in the body. Trauma is what encodes in the nervous system during an overwhelming event. These embodiment practices help us stay in the present, grounded, and with open awareness.
We follow "trailheads" of sensations, images, or thoughts that arise during the body scan and explore what this part of you is wanting you to know. This practice helps to build trust and relationship between you and the parts of you. Trust is built through small, consistent acts of presence.
We will also check in with any parts that have been discovered in previous sessions and still have more work to do.
If your parts want to express themselves through movement, I will guide you through somatic movements in a safe way. This is time that you get to explore your inner system to learn more about what a part's intentions and fears are, when they developed, what they want you to know about them, and what else they might like to do, instead of their current strategies that may be creating challenges in your life, or roadblocks to your healing.
Throughout this process, I will be mapping your parts to help you have a greater understanding of what behaviors and wounds they are connected with, and to provide a roadmap of your system for you.
If at any point you feel a sense of overwhelm, I can offer nervous system regulation through diaphragmatic breathing, mindfulness, Polyvagal techniques, bilateral stimulation, tapping, and more. If needed, we'll end with another grounding.
We'll close with a practice of sharing gratitude to the parts that were willing to share, and make a commitment to return to them in a future session. I will offer a practice you can do in between sessions to continue building trust and connection.
